If it seems odd to include an event in 2019 in a history website, think of it as a little bit of recent history. It also makes a nice contrast with the 1927 school photograph.
Following on from the 2017 Parish History Exhibition the Lambston Parish Residents’ Association decided to hold a school reunion for the pupils of Lambston School in Sutton which closed in 1952.
We had no idea how many would attend or indeed, how many we could invite. Those who we knew scoured their memories and address books and we found 34 old boys and girls of the school. Some were far away in New Zealand or Canada. We managed to contact 32 of them and most replied. In the end 17 attended the afternoon tea in Bethel Chapel hall.
It was a joy to see folk becoming reacquainted, sometimes with friends they had not seen in decades.
