Man-Made Parish

 

In some ways the distinction between ‘Natural’ and ‘Man-made’ is false;  – apart from the geology most aspects of the landscape can be seen as at least influenced by man’s occupation over the last N 0000 years. Even the shape of the land has been modified as lanes have cut deep into the land surface and stream valleys have been narrowed and deepened by clearance of land, increased runoff and tree felling and planting.
